A future united by energy and community

Guided by our Elders and inspired by the dreams of the next generation, we are setting a new standard in infrastructure development based on walking on-Country together and co-designing and co-owning Australia’s renewable energy future in the spirit of self-determination and reconciliation.

This journey is about more than energy; it's about our nation’s unity.

Desert Springs Octopus (DSO) is a majority Indigenous owned and operated company backed by leading renewable energy player Octopus Australia.

We are a diverse collective of visionaries, renewable energy trailblazers, respected community leaders, government representatives, on-country advocates.

What binds us? A dual vision: to champion positive change for First Nations communities and to reshape Northern Australia's energy landscape.

By intertwining cultural enrichment with sustainable innovation, we aim to craft a future where renewable energy not only powers our homes, but also empowers Indigenous communities.

    • Renewable infrastructure development: In collaboration with government, industry, and local Indigenous communities, we aim to strategise, build, invest in, and operate renewable energy sources across Northern Australia.

    • Innovative energy solutions: Our immediate objective is to establish our premier solar site. However, the horizon holds much more, from wind farms to groundbreaking green hydrogen solutions. Plus, we're devising innovative technologies destined for a global stage, even as we set our sights on delivering energy to landlocked Asian countries.

    • Community collaboration: Traditional owners have been the stewards of this land, and the push for green technologies resonates deeply with their practices and ethos. Our commitment goes beyond mere business – it's about genuine, respectful collaboration that values the rich traditions and ancient cultures of First Nations communities.
